LoRaWAN Development Company & Services

LoRaWAN development services for wide-area IoT — device firmware, gateway networks, The Things Network integration, and dashboards that handle thousands of end nodes.

What lorawan development with CodeCaracal includes

When devices must cover square kilometres on battery power for years, LoRaWAN is often the only practical answer. Farms, ranches, water networks, mines and city-scale sensor systems all run on long-range, low-power radio — and they need more than a dev kit and a gateway to work reliably.

We design and deploy LoRaWAN systems end to end: low-power end-device firmware, payload formats and decoders, gateway siting with real link-budget planning, The Things Network or private network-server integration, and dashboards that stay healthy past thousands of nodes. We also handle downlink control, so your network is not just listen-only telemetry.

Types of projects we support

LoRaWAN Development covers more than one shape of project. These are the engagements we take on most often.

Livestock and asset tracking

Solar-powered LoRaWAN tags with GPS, geofencing and long battery life across wide areas.

Agricultural sensor networks

Soil, weather and irrigation monitoring over LoRa mesh where cellular does not reach.

Utility and water monitoring

Flow, pressure and quality sensors on city-scale LoRaWAN networks for leak detection.

Environmental monitoring

Air quality, weather and noise sensor networks feeding public or private dashboards.

White-label LoRaWAN platforms

Custom TTN-based consoles and dashboards for network operators and system integrators.

Frequently asked questions

Practical answers to the questions clients ask before starting a lorawan development project.

What range can LoRaWAN actually achieve?+

In open terrain a well-sited gateway reaches 10–15 km; in dense urban or heavy foliage it drops to 1–3 km. We do link-budget and coverage planning before committing hardware.

Do you handle both the devices and the network?+

Yes — firmware on the end nodes, gateway deployment, network-server configuration (TTN, ChirpStack or AWS IoT Core for LoRaWAN) and the application dashboard are all in scope.

Can our existing LoRaWAN devices connect to your platform?+

Usually. If your devices use standard LoRaWAN, we onboard them via OTAA/ABP, write any custom payload decoders, and bring their data into your dashboard.

How long do LoRaWAN devices run on battery?+

With Class A operation and sensible reporting intervals, LoRaWAN nodes typically run 1–5 years on a single battery. We engineer the power budget, duty cycle and radio parameters to hit your target lifetime.

When should we use LoRaWAN instead of Wi-Fi, BLE or cellular?+

Use LoRaWAN when devices are spread over wide areas, must run for years on battery, and send small amounts of data occasionally — farms, utilities, logistics yards and cities. Use Wi-Fi or BLE indoors where mains power or frequent charging exists, and cellular when you need high bandwidth. We help you choose based on your real deployment, not a preference.

What is the difference between LoRaWAN and The Things Network (TTN)?+

LoRaWAN is the radio protocol and network architecture. The Things Network is a public community LoRaWAN network server that many deployments use. We develop for both public TTN coverage and private networks (ChirpStack or AWS IoT Core for LoRaWAN) depending on your coverage and data-control needs.
